Ingredients

Adjust Servings
1 cup whole black dal (soaked for 6 hours)
¼ cup Rajma (soaked hours)
2 tbsp oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 bay leaf (optional)
2 green cardamom (optional)
1 black cardamon (optional)
2 tbsp garlic garlic paste
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp salt, adjust to taste
1 tsp turmeric
½ tsp black pepper
2 tomatoes (pureed)
3 cups water
2 tbsp ghee, adjust to taste
cilantro, for garnish
drizzle of heavy cream - Optional

Directions

1.

Soak the lentils in cold water for hours..

Press the Sauté button on the Cooker, add the oil and allow it to heat up for a minute.

Sauté the onions, bay leaf, green cardamom and black cardamom.

Mark as complete
4.

Add the ginger garlic paste, garam masala, cumin pownder, salt, pepper. Stir well and add the tomato puree.

Mark as complete
5.

Add the lentils to the pot along with the 3 cups of water and mix well.

Mark as complete
6.

Close lid and Select “Dal” mode.

Mark as complete
7.

After cooking is complete, drop in a dollop of butter or heavy cream and garnish with cilantro, if desired.
