Aloo Fry (Potato)

Ingredients

1 cup potato, peeled and chopped
2 tbsp cooking oil
¾ cup water
2 dried red chillies
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 tbsp cumin powder
¼ tsp asafoetida/ hing
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp amchur (dry mango) powder
1 tsp kasuri methi
salt to taste
coriander leaves to garnish

Directions

1.

Press the “Sauté” button and wait for 30 seconds for the inner cooking pot to heat up.

Add 2 tsp oil to the inner cooking pot and wait for a few seconds. Add fennel seeds. Once they splutter, add the red chillies and give it a short stir.

Now add the diced potatoes and keep stirring.

Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and amchur powder. Keep stirring for a minute until you see that all the spices have mixed well with the potatoes. Add water.

Choose the “Idly/Steam” mode from the Pre-set menu.

6.

Open the lid, switch to Sauté mode. Add the Kasuri methi and give it a stir for 30 seconds. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
